Gibraltar 0-2 Scotland: Ryan Christie and Che Adams end Scots’ seven game winless run ahead of Euro 2024
Scotland have won their first match in eight as they eventually swept aside a stubborn Gibraltar side in the Algarve.
Steve Clarke oversaw what was essentially an attack vs defence training session as second-half goals from Ryan Christie and Che Adams capped a match totally dominated by Scotland.
Avoiding injuries was the watchword this afternoon with Euro 2024 just around the corner, but half-time substitute Liam Cooper had to be replaced following an awkward looking clash of knees, something the manager absolutely could have done without.
The goals were certainly worth tuning in for as Bournemouth playmaker Christie did well to get the ball out of his feet and leather it into the top corner to give the Tartan Army the breakthrough after 58 minutes. Not wanting to be undone, freshly-promoted Premier League attacker Adams emerged from the bench and, with time running down, was found with a great pick-out by John McGinn to put the laces right through his shot, which flew off his boot into the top corner.
